Today was my first time to cook a proper Chinese lunch, the type Cantonese call "Sam Soong, Yat Thong. Pat Fan Yam Chong", literally translated to 3 dishes and 1 soup, white rice all you can eat.
I went to the market down the road right after I sent Steven out at 9:15am. Got some garnish and a couple of drumsticks and meat for the soup. I already have all the other ingredients over the weekend.
Halfway through, I decided, even though the taste may be horrendous, the look must be there! Akakaka...
A couple of blunders...
1. while stir-frying the vegetable, I suddenly realize that I do not own a bottle opener. I stared at the oyster sauce, then the fish... oops. Funny thoughts come to mind, finally I used a can opener to open the bottle cap of the oyster sauce out of desperation. Haha!
2. After popping the fish into a DIY steamer and the egg into the rice-pot steamer, I realize I also do not own an oven mitts or a plate-grabber to remove the hot plate from steamer. Ooops... my poor hands.
All in all, I am pleased with the results of how the food looked! :D
Eco-Brown rice was nicely cooked, not too hard or soft.
Brain Tonic Soup
It lasted till dinner...

*bowed and curtsied* Xie xie... xie xie...! :D
